A fascinating and remarkable portrayal of the world’s entire timeline in one cohesive, panoramic form, from a Biblical perspective. It’s a beacon of light in the darkness that will help us prepare for what’s coming.

I became more and more eager to keep reading – like a very good detective novel. The book weaves together lots of threads into a strong cord that has the power to lift all of us into a new or fresh appreciation of Jesus’s work on our behalf and his promise of life beyond our earthly one.
Tony Corris, Christian believer in his retirement years.

Page describes the state of the world today and compares his observations to predictions made for the end times in both the Old and New Testaments. He uses genealogies recorded in the Old Testament to construct a timeline for major events up until the time of Christ. He fact-checks his deductions by comparing his conclusions to the predictions of others and to what is currently known about ancient history. He takes the same analytical approach toward Jesus’ prophecies and those of the apostles and proposes a timeline for the events leading to the Return of Christ and beyond. The seven annexes that follow the epilogue provide more background information on Egyptian chronology, early Jewish and Christian teachings, descriptions of what happens next, and a Bible reading plan.
The reason I picked this book up in the first place is that I’m always trying to get a better understanding of Biblical prophecies. I like the methodical way in which Page goes about examining and explaining the prophecies in both Testaments. His clear and concise language makes it easy for his readers to understand both the material and the reasons behind the conclusions he makes. His ideas are thoughtful and presented in a manner that is easy to follow. I especially like how he compares the history in the Bible to what secular historians tell us. For example, he’s honest about how the exact date of the founding of Egypt is sketchy at best and how the generally accepted date compares to his calculation based on the Biblical timeline. I appreciate that he took the time to point out how the translation of original Greek words of the New Testament can affect our understanding of some passages. That speaks to me that he is being honest with his audience. A must-have for any non-fiction book that I read is the documentation. He footnotes the sources for every claim that he makes in this book. The footnotes are not just about source material. He also includes interesting informational tidbits and additional explanations.
There are not many negatives that I found with this book. The biggest thing is citing Wikipedia as a reference source. I feel that encyclopedia references are okay for starting points but shouldn’t be used as official sources. As a personal preference, I don’t fully trust information sources that are to be found only online. It’s too easy for information to be changed at any given time.
I rate The Date of Christ’s Return: Biblical prophecy for the Final Generation 5 out of 5 stars. The book is well-edited. Even though the subject matter is weighty, it is easy to read. Page’s arguments are well-thought-out, and he provides the reasoning behind his arguments.
I recommend this book to adults interested in learning more about Biblical teachings about end-time prophecy.
This book summarizes the main points and lessons in Jesus’ life that can be used when determining the time when he could return. Not only does this offer much appreciated background for readers not previously knowledgeable on the topic, but it also provides documented evidence behind his claims as to when the return of Christ may come. The information in this book is mainly derived from the Bible, along with a few other statistics used when discussing the development in our world and society. It is, to say the least, well researched and tied together.
Aside from factual evidence and biblical references, The Date of Christ’s Return also includes personal experiences and insight. Stories from the author's life are used to further explore the idea of the return of Christ and its importance. Not only does this add a more heartfelt touch, but it helps the reader resonate and relate to the author. Each personal story included helps make the novel feel less academic and instead more like a way to apply the book to each reader’s life.
On a more negative note, there are several occasions in this novel where assumptions are the main basis of reasoning. While evidence is offered and references given, they all loosely point to the author's claim. Not all of the answers that the readers are given would be considered entirely accurate. This novel is a wonderful way to educate yourself on the subject of Christ’s return, but some of the claims included are no more than educated opinion.
In conclusion, I would recommend this book to anyone looking to further their knowledge on the subject of the second coming. It is filled with biblical references and theories that would benefit anyone seeking to expand their understanding of the matter. This novel may particularly interest religious leaders and scholars, as it provides a substantial amount of background history and information. This book deserves 4 out of 5 stars as it meets the requirements of an entertaining and engaging book, but doesn’t necessarily go above and beyond. While it has its flaws, I would still recommend it to anyone looking for an informative read.
I have read books similar to this one in the past, but it's always nice to read another author's opinion on prophetic events. It helps to read more than one author's opinion concerning the events to come here on earth so that we can compare their opinions and decide for ourselves what we feel is closest to the truth. I especially liked the fact that he backed up almost everything he predicted, as well as giving an in-depth explanation as to why he believed it. For example, he not only tells what he believes to be true but explains the full history behind how he came to that conclusion. This was not only informative and interesting, but also increased my confidence in his predictions.
I can't think of anything negative to say about this book! It was very well written and, as far as I can see, might possible be very accurate as well. Whether or not his predicions are exactly correct, or just close, or way off base, remains to be seen. But everything he says makes sense to me, and I am inclined to believe his predictions. And it never hurts to be prepared just in case he is spot on! Not only does he tell us what most likely lies ahead for us, he also tells us what we can be be doing now to prepare. I will be recommending this book to my friends and family.
Anyone who is interested in Biblical Prophecy will enjoy reading this book. Anyone who doesn't believe in the Bible, in God, or in Bible Prophecy would most likely also find this book interesting, at the very least. If nothing else, it makes you think! Anyone who has ever wanted to take a peek at their future will enjoy reading this book!
I am pleased to rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it was very informative as well as being very well edited. Even if his predictions turn out to be wrong, the history, footnotes, and references contained in the book still make the book a great read and a reat reference book to keep on hand.
I enjoyed how in between the heavy subject matter he places small snippets from his life and a few quotes from others. These little tales give you a better insight into the writer as a person. My favorite quote follows: “Someone once wrote that if a Martian were to visit our planet, he would conclude that the earth was an asylum for the criminally insane!” Another aspect I liked is how he does not force his view on the reader. He states in several places that this is his belief, that he is human and can make a mistake. He also lets the reader know about gaining salvation, without making the reader want to tune out.
I found nothing to dislike about the book. Where other books on this subject tell you what to believe, this author shows you what he believes and why, then leaves it up to the reader to decide what to think. His research is convincing and his reference section at the end of the book gives the reader ample information to follow his thinking. The date for the start of the final judgement days may surprise a few people.
The format of the book, the amount of research, along with the writing style led me to rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. The editing was good, but keep in mind he wrote this in British English and some of the spelling is different.
I would recommend this one to anyone interested in End Time prophecy, regardless of your religion. All religions are treated well in this work. It is mostly a Christian based book and does not follow the timeline that science states for the beginning of the world and its age.
This book was very enjoyable. The author has done his research and managed to put the pieces of the puzzle all together for his readers. I liked that he also acknowledged that precise dating is still impossible, so he did not contradict the Bible in any way. If you’re interested in exploring Jewish history, times and learning more about biblical feast days, this book can provide all of that to you. Mr. Page makes a convincing argument to support his position and writes cohesively on the subject. His commentary is upbeat and sincere. You can tell that he's a man who cares a lot about his subject and his readers.
There were some editing errors throughout the book, but they were nothing major. A good proofreader could make this book flawless. One of my favorite things about this book was Mr. Page’s personal testimonial right at the beginning. I hadn’t been expecting to read anything about the author, so this section drew me in and made me more interested in reading the rest of the book. His personal experience helps to showcase how God operates and makes his argument about the ancient prophecies even more compelling.
I also liked how he took a deep dive into the teachings of Jesus and helped explain some of the scriptures that may seem contradictory to some people. Mr. Page is a good teacher and explains things clearly so that you understand. He is a gifted communicator. He also talks about many subjects in this book, so there is a good variety of content to look forward to.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. If you love prophecy, eschatology and learning more about the Christian religion, this book will satisfy you. The information is concise, thorough and interesting to read about. The included appendices will help you study the author’s research and decide for yourself what to believe. If you aren’t interested in history, the Bible or religion, this probably isn’t the book for you.
